About Us

Twin Cities Chess Club of Minnesota was founded in 2009 by Irina Rybakova and her brother Igor. Igor Rybakov is a professional chess coach and checkers National Grandmaster and International Master. He has coached in chess clubs throughout Minnesota and instructed over 4000 chess and checkers players so far.

Our team currently consists of twelve professional chess instructors who have coached in over fifty schools in elementary and middle schools in and around the Twin Cities area. Many of these schools have after school classes, while some also have classes before school.

We teach in Minneapolis, Hopkins, Eden Prairie, Bloomington, Maple Grove, Blane, New Brighton, Shoreview, Buffalo, Big Lake, Hanover, Elk River, Montrose, Hastings, Maplewood, Woodbury, St. Paul, Forest Lake, Lino Lakes.

We also have classes every Sunday in Hopkins Pavilion, host summer chess camps, and offer private lessons to those interested.
